We find that our clients play with the different color combinations available and come up with some fantastic uses for these glass mosaic tiles that we never would have thought of.

The Cabernet color we are finding works well in a number of scenarios and we thought we would offer some suggestions to help in any remodeling project planning. For those looking to add glass mosaic tiles where darker cabinets might be involved, for example lets say a rich mahogany color or a dark walnut, the cabernet blends color would be a nice kitchen backsplash color in a kitchen that has a lot of light. The darker color in the cabernet blends coordinates well with brushed nickel or bronze fixtures and lighting accessories.

For those with lighter cabinets the cabernet would be a nice choice in kitchens containing an accent wall or fixtures in a dark charcoal, steel grey, or maroon color. The cabernet in these scenarios would coordinate well with the colors mentioned and would also add color in the form of the wine and maroon color that is featured prominently in this blend.

Give our staff a call anytime if you have any questions about any of our products and how they might fit in with your remodeling plans.

For those of you in project planning mode we wanted to share some beautiful photos of a completed tile project sent in by one of our clients. The clients used our Cottage Lane Beveled 3 x 6 subway tiles in Snowflake (white) and the project really came out very nice. We have many requests and questions about doing a Herringbone pattern using subway tiles and these photos are a great example of what can be done.

The client used the Cottage Lane Beveled 3 x 6 White subway tiles and framed their herringbone pattern using the Cottage Lane Rope Liner. We think the colors coordinate very well with the cabinets and the countertop and the Herringbone pattern really is a winner in this and we believe in any kitchen. The Herringbone pattern provides a focal point in the kitchen and is one of the better design elements that one can use to create “design interest” in a larger kitchen area.

Order a sample today of our Cottage Lane Beveled 3 x 6 subway tiles so you can begin planning your kitchen project before the upcoming holiday season.

Our questions mostly involve customers who want to have a “topper” piece that can finish off a tiled wall with a decorative piece that has a glazed edge so this wall appears finished.

In looking at the photo above one can see that the Cottage Lane Chair molding piece does exactly that. The top edge of the piece is fully glazed and the use of this piece is a perfect way to complete any tiled wall that needs a decorative finished piece. We offer several other decorative liners and borders in the Cottage Lane subway tile collection including our beautiful Rope Liner, Bar Liner, and Pencil liner which are all excellent choices for adding some style to your tiled area.

What, is he kidding, you say? No, I am not. This color granite is quite popular simply because it’s relatively neutral coloring makes it a very flexible color to work with and it coordinates with a range of appliances and fixtures.

We like how the tile and the granite work together in the kitchen to bring out the best in the room and tie in the other new materials, paint colors, and trims (not shown unfortunately) We didn’t have enough time to gather photos of the other room items but trust me when I say that the room came out positively fantastic.

Please remember to send us your completed project photos when your tile has been installed so we can share your project and tile insights with all of our blog readers

We received these wonderful project photos from a customer recently and we love how they tiled the little storage nook just off of the kitchen counter. The client used our Cottage Lane 2 x 4 Beveled subway tiles and we believe the kitchen project came out great.

We never get tired of repeating how visually important the backsplash area is in a kitchen and these photos are yet more proof of just what we mean. The beveled subway tiles really do add depth to this area and they look much better than having just a painted wall to cover the wall over what are beautiful granite counters.

Hopefully by viewing these photos you are inspired to use our Cottage lane Subway tiles in your kitchen or bathroom. Check out more Cottage Lane installation photos here for more ideas on how to use subway tiles in a beveled or a flat edge.

We know that there are quite a few subway tile aficionados who want to use subway tiles in their home but need some ideas on how to “dress up” an area that might require more than the traditional “running brick” subway tile pattern. We think we have just about seen and heard it all but we try to offer suggestions when we can to customers who call and ask us our opinion on what to do in a particular area of their home. Better than our suggestions though are photos from our actual customers of completed tile project installations showing just what can be done with our subway tiles.

Thank you very much to this customer who is here in Arizona and was kind enough to send in photos of her tile project where she used our Cardiff Crackle 3 x 6 subway tiles in the Sand color as a kitchen backsplash tile for her home. We love how the tiles work well together with the colors of the cabinets and the countertop in the kitchen. And we especially like what our customer did with the area over her cook top.

Look at the beautiful and very creative Herringbone pattern that she did to really bring some design inspiration to the kitchen. We love the look that it gives to the cook top area and while I have never been in the kitchen I can imagine that the Herringbone design serves as a visual focal point for the kitchen area when guests are over to visit.

For potential clients thinking about using our subway tiles in your home please visit our website for more project photos which can be found by clicking on the blue more photos button on each product page located on our website. We appreciate you dropping by our blog to read what we have to say and we hope that you will make it a point to come back often when you are looking for ideas for your upcoming remodeling project and you will also refer any friends who may have a remodeling project on their mind for the upcoming year.

That is a question asked by many customers when designing their kitchen or bath remodeling project. We believe that neither product is “better” in terms of quality or durability since both will be installed on a wall rather than a floor and will not be subject to the beating that a floor tile takes on a daily basis. That said and both tiles being equal, one should choose their tile based on the look they want to achieve in their home once a project is complete.

Both ceramic subway tile and glass subway tiles have their place and depending on the design style of a project one tile might work better than another. Glass subway tiles are more appropriate in a modern and contemporary setting while Ceramic subway tiles fit in better with a more classic and traditional look. While these are loose guidelines to follow they are by no means absolute and written in stone.

Choose your tile by what makes you happy and which tiles fit in to the design best that you are envisioning for your space. We have clients who have installed either glass or ceramic tiles in a range of different spaces and when coordinated with cabinets, paint colors, fixtures and other items in the room the tile always looks like it belonged in that area all along.

So don’t fret over what tile to choose for your area. Plan, plan, plan and coordinate the colors and components that will be in the room together. Doing so will ensure that your project will be a successful one.
