I tested it out with a couple of projects that we have completed already and it was fairly accurate. Or at least accurate in a loose sense of the word. I could probably tell you fairly accurately how much something is going to cost by telling you to think about realistically how much you think the project is going to cost and then triple that amount. I am kidding, mostly.
If you are going to be hiring someone to do work for you this might also be a good place to begin so that you have a ballpark idea of how much it should cost. And please, please, get more than one estimate.
