Layers of Glass
Looking for something new and innovative to do with glass? Look no further than 3Form. They are now layering glass tile. The layering creates creates a depth of color that has not been seen before. Patterns suspended in the interlayers of the glass seem to overlap and create character that is not usually associated with glass tile.
Not to mention, the glass is absolutely stunning.
Here is an application seen on sliding doors. Is your mind suddenly in overdrive thinking about all the places you could use this glass? Mine is.
Do you want to customize the layers of your glass? Do you have a specific design idea in mind? 3Form now has a way for you to create your own unique products, and then order a sample.
The glass above is from the Capiz collection. This has to be one of my favorites. I would love to incorporate this glass into my master bathroom. The calm, serene colors would make me feel as though I were in a spa, with a cobalt blue ocean and white sand just outside the door. That is if I could ignore the kids banging on the bathroom door asking me when I was coming out.
From the website, 3Form describes this collection as
Panels that feature interlayers comprised of hand-dyed capiz shells and colorful crushed glass suspended between layers of ecoresin.
Not only that, you can customize the panels, mixing different colored hand dyed capiz shells. Here is the link to play with this customization program yourself.
Another interesting is their innovative program for recycling and reusing glass that is removed from installations or has been damaged during production. This program also brings the price of this spectacular glass down to a level where most home owners can consider using it strategically. And you can feel good about the environment while you are doing it.
